Panama, Aug 18 (Prensa Latina) To promote rational use of energy, the Panamanian government will distribute 1.6 million energy-saving bulbs to 730,000 families in the country, an official source said here Friday. Each home will be given two light bulbs and it is calculated the total saving for all families could be 1.5 million dollars a month. This program will demand an investment of four million dollars, said Aderito Pastor Cabrera, executive director of the Ministry of Economy and Finances' Energy Policy Commission. Pastor Cabrera said the changeover will start before December 2007 in all public sectors, and will allow saving three million dollars in energy costs.
