Pedro Miguel Gonzalez Contemplating His Fate
By Ereida Prieto-Barreiro for the Panama America - The President of the National Assembly Pedro Miguel González left open the possibility of him resigning from this position, by saying that "after the waters have returned to their level, I will make a decision on the matter." González said that now the decision is in his hands but that he will let "the waters recede and with no type of pressure," evaluate the situation considering what best benefits the country, without allowing for it to affect the Free Trade Agreement with the United States. "I have been the one who has made errors in all of this, I take all of the responsibility," said González, but added that it would be unjust that if the relations between the United States and Panama are affected by his designation as the President of the National Assembly.
