HAVANA, Cuba (ACN): Daily flights between Havana and Panama City will be increased from two to four, as Cuba and Panama recently signed an agreement concerning air services.
During a recent visit of Panama's Vice President, Samuel Lewis Navarro to Cuba, two important agreements were signed between both countries.
One of them seeks to increase flight services between the capital cities of the two nations.
The second accord is related to maritime transportation. It includes actions to improve the efficiency of the sector and the information exchange about maritime record techniques and procedures, and registration policies.
Likewise, Lewis, along with Cuba's Vice President of the Council of Minister, Otto Rivero Torres, opened Panama's exhibit in the 25th Havana International Trade Fair (FIHAV) on Monday.
Speaking at the ceremony, Panama's Vice President recalled that 25 years ago, during the first international trade fair of Havana, his country was one of the three nations participating, along with Spain and Cuba.
Lewis said being in Cuba accompanied by a big delegation shows the strengthening of relations between the two countries. He highlighted the large number of participants in the Fair, which is one of three most important events of its kind in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Present at this year's 25th FIHAV are 36 Chambers of Commerce and more than 1,400 companies, of these nearly 1,000 are from 53 countries. In more than 16,000 square meters of exhibition area, participants are showcasing their products, which include technology, raw materials and services.
