August 22 marks the world premier of Fat Katz & Expats, a musical comedy about the quirky characters of Boquete. The play, sponsored by and for the benefit of the Fundacion Amigos de Animales Boquete (FADAB) will run from August 22 thru August 26 at the Hotel Fundadores in Boquete.
Written by Mickey & Sharon (Squirt) James, the production includes 17 original songs performed by the writers and cast of several characters. Mickey & Squirt are veteran Nashville and LA singer/songwriters who moved to Boquete two years ago. They have toured individually and collectively for nearly forty years. Their songs have been recorded by Bobby Bare, Mel McDaniel, Con Hunley, Tanya Tucker, Charlie Louvin, Pinkard and Bowden, Ethel and the Shameless Hussies, Shel Silverstein, Bob Gibson, Canada's Good Brothers, and include Mickey Gilley's top 10 CBS single "I'm the One Mama Warned You About", and Lorrie Morgan's number 1 RCA single "Out of Your Shoes." They have earned two gold and one platinum record for their efforts.
Tickets for Fat Katz & Expats are $7 and are available in Boquete at Read & Relax Bookstore, Mail Boxes, Etc., the law office of Nixia Guerra, The Panamonte Inn and Spa, The Hotel Fundadores, and at the Tuesday morning (gringo) meetings at the Panamonte Inn and Spa in Boquete.
